Christine Nevin, Greenwich Council
| Project Title: | Gplus: Your Questions Answered |
| Client: | Greenwich Council |
| Media: | DVD |
We have worked with Greenwich Council's Post-16 education network - Gplus - for a number of years now. During that time we've filmed student interviews, taken photos for and designed the layout of the prospectus as well as creating their initial website.
In 2008 we worked closely with Gplus to produce a short, punchy promotional video which is being used as a major part of the Gplus Roadshow to promote Greenwich Sixth Forms to secondary pupils in the borough.
From the start we were asked to involve students in scripting and filming the video. We lead a number of group discussions where ideas were shared and the script formulated.
We also offered work experience placements to media students during filming.
Involving students in this way allowed a unique perspective to imbue the final product.
We present the film above in its entirety - please email us if you would like a copy on DVD.

Testimonial:
(Please note this project was produced under my previous company AP Multimedia.)
Since completing the film we've been sent the following testimonial:
AP Multimedia handled the Greenwich 14-19 commission to make a short film about post 16 educational provision in the Local Authority. From the outset, once the aims of the project had been outlined, the experienced duo seized the reins and worked with verve, flexibility and professional efficiency.
The company took the initiative leading creative planning sessions with a group of students and professionals from the Local Authority. They achieved a consensus from the group about the overarching structure for the film, organised visits to the 9 centres to film and record, negotiated throughout the process with both students and staff to arrive at the scenarios which were to be included in the film, and maintained the tight schedule they were set for all the work.
Once the first draft of the film had been completed, they responded to critiques of it by both the GPlus management group and the Film planning group by quickly working up a second draft which addressed the issues raised. They worked with centres again to set up filming schedules and to direct students for this final stage of the process.
The finished product is professional and dynamic. It powerfully expresses the messages we intended to convey about opportunities and ethos in Greenwich post 16 centres powerfully. It is going to be used as the centrepiece of a series of Roadshows to be held in all Secondary Schools in Greenwich this Autumn Term and will be evaluated by the audience of Year 10 and 11 students.
The company have been a real pleasure to work with. They have been meticulous in planning and conscientious in communicating throughout the project. They combine the subtlety to listen and respond (to the complex mix of input from adult professionals and students) with the authority and experience (to direct and shape material) to produce a professional product.
I commend them to you unreservedly.
Kind Regards
Christine Nevin
