Video Budgeting
At Pinsharp Multimedia we take great pride in delivering projects on time and on budget.
It’s a philosophy that has served us well down the years and led to a great deal of repeat business from satisfied clients.
When it comes to a project we will always agree the budget before commencing any work. These budgetary decisions are arrived at either through phone calls, emails or meetings, none of which are charged to the client.
During the production we will always inform a client if for any reason the budget is subject to change. This will usually occur if the specifications for the project have altered significantly from the original script and will therefore necessitate additional filming time, increased editing and graphics or a substantially greater number of duplications than originally costed.
Budget example:
For a video based product the budget is usually broken down into:
As we control nearly every aspect of production in-house, the budget we give at the start of a project remains firm and unaltered (except for unforeseen circumstances as outlined above). However, the areas that we do not control are music licensing and duplication of media.
Music licensing is a fee payable to the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society that is dependent on the amount of music used and the broadcast nature of the film. We would usually base a quote on previous work to act as a ball park figure. Final pricing would be given once the on-line edit has been completed, when we have the final figure for the number of duplications as well as confirmation of the specific market for which the piece is intended. (i.e. Broadcast/non-broadcast/internet)
For the duplication of media (DVDs, USB sticks) we have good working relationships with duplication houses who can offer us excellent rates.
